MACEDON, Thessalonica. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ (25mm, 10.43 g, 6h). Pythian Games issue. Radiate and cuirassed bust right / Nike standing left, holding laurel branch over five balls and prize crown containing palm frond, and palm frond. Cf. SNG ANS 884 (for obv.; same die); Touratsoglou 139 (V12/R98). Fine, brown surfaces, some encrustation and porosity.
